 I would like to thank everyone who placed an order for the Little Caesar’s pizza kits and cookie dough.  This has always been a huge fundraiser for the preschool and I am proud to say we were able to raise $745.00 to help in purchasing supplies for the preschool.

Each year our four year old classes take a field trip to Balls Creek and Sherrills Ford Elementary Schools to have lunch in the cafeteria and visit the kindergarten classrooms.  We will visit Balls Creek Elementary on Friday, April 12th.  We need to be in the cafeteria by 12:40 pm.  Our visit to Sherrills Ford Elementary will be Friday, May 3rd.  We need to be in the cafeteria by 12:00 pm.  You need to let your child’s teacher know if you do plan to attend and what school you want to visit.  We are not able to transport anyone, so you will need to make arrangements to pick your child up and have them there at the appropriate time.  The children that will be attending other schools next year are welcome to go to either of these schools.  Even though your child does not go to this school, they still get the experience of eating in the cafeteria and visiting the classrooms.
 
During the month of April, we celebrate the Week of the Young Child.  During this week, we will have a theme for every day.  Teddy Bear Day will be Monday, April 15th and Tuesday, April 16th.  The children bring their teddy bears to preschool.  Pajama Day will be Wednesday, April 17th and Thursday, April 18th.  The children are allowed to wear their pajamas to preschool.  Freaky Friday will be on Friday, April 19th.  Everyone wear something crazy on this day!

Our spring and graduation pictures are scheduled for Monday, April 15th and Tuesday, April 16th.  These pictures will be made indoors, so dress your child appropriately.   I have ordered the caps and gowns for the graduation and will hang on to them until graduation night.

I am currently looking at options for our Summer Preschool Program.   During our Summer Preschool Program, we have beach days, picnics and lots of other fun things to do outdoors!  We provide this to all preschool children ages 2-4.  This does include the graduating 4 year old children.  Information will be sent home soon regarding our summer program.
 
We will be assessing the children this month and could use some parents to help volunteer in the classrooms to allow the teachers to focus on the children.  We have seen a lot of improvement in the children and hopefully you have too.  If you have any questions or concerns, please see your child’s teacher.

The preschool will be closed Friday, March 29th – Sunday, April 7th to celebrate Easter.  Each year, Mt. Pleasant Church has an Easter Egg Hunt for the children.  This will be held on Saturday, March 30th.   All the preschool children are invited to attend.  Please see the flyer that was sent home with your child concerning this event.  I hope everyone has a Happy Easter and that you take this opportunity to spend some quality time with your family!
