NOVEMBER PRESCHOOL NEWS

We will start working with the children on our assessments this month. Once completed, we will send them home for you to review. The checklist lets us know where your child is struggling and gives you the opportunity to work with them at home. If you have any questions or concerns about your child’s progress and would like to set up a conference, please let the teachers know and they will be glad to discuss this with you.

We are excited to have NC Lions KidSight Program offer a free vision screening to the children again this year! They will be doing this on Wednesday, November 12th and Thursday, November 13th. A permission form will be sent home with the children to participate in the screening. Please return this form as soon as possible.

This month’s Safety Class will be on Choking, Strangulation & Suffocation Prevention. Medic Melaine will be teaching the children what to do to prevent this from happening. She also plans to bring the ambulance to show the children.

The children are learning about the fruits of spirit with Pastor Kaleb. He also sings this fun song with them: Fruit of the Spirit-Motions that you can find on YouTube.

Stretch-n-Grow with Mrs Hilary is always fun learning about eating healthily and exercising.

November finds us talking about Thanksgiving and all for which we are thankful. As we discuss thankfulness, we also want to teach them that they can help other children, too! Every year, the church takes up shoeboxes for Samaritan’s Purse. These shoeboxes are then delivered to children all around the world. If your family would like to pick up a box to fill, let me know and we can send them home with your child. All filled boxes need to be turned in no later than Friday, November 21st.

We will be closed on Monday, November 10th and Tuesday, November 11th.  Our Thanksgiving break will be Wednesday, November 26th - Sunday, November 30th. I hope everyone takes the time to thank God for all they have!

As a reminder, Amanda Watts is our parent representative on the Preschool Board. She attends the Preschool Board meetings each month and shares any concerns from parents at that time. You may email her at a.mathiason@yahoo.com, if you feel there is an issue that is not being addressed. She will bring this information to the next board meeting.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
